Alaska Nurses Association collection, 1907-1978.

The Alaska Nurses Collection was compiled and donated by Doris Southall on the behalf of the Alaska Nurses Association. A state bicenntennial commission grant enabled Doris Southall to contact retired Alaska nurses asking them for materials relating to the history of nursing in Alaska. The series in the collection consist of the Letters and Recollections File (1921-1975) which includes clippings, narratives, and photographs; the Alaska Nurses Association Organizational Files (1938-1977) which includes reports, directories, correspondence, newsletters, etc; and the Publications File (1950-1978) arranged by title and date.
